OFF TOPIC: Obama 2, McCain 0
According to early snap polling at CNN, Fox, and CBS, Senator Barack Obama has succeeded in coming out the favorite in the second presidential debate. Senator Obama spoke very directly to the audience and delivered his responses with respect, precision and clarity as he displayed a firm command of all subject matter.
I thought that it went well for both of the candidates. Unfortunately for McCain though, his style of delivery and blame is just not appealing.
And, the primary incentive for Senator Obama to debate well? Post debate PDA with his very loving wife Michelle of course!
Kremlin Cup Over For Venus
American Venus Williams will be leaving Moscow, Russia almost as swiftly as she arrived. The Kremlin Cup will not be hers to celebrate as she was knocked out of contention by Italy's Flavia Pennetta. Pennetta defeated Venus 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
"I totally came here because I love winning. I have never won this title, but I just had a day where I could not control my game. She played well."
Well, at least she seems, as usual, to have a good head about it. Life goes on.

OFF TOPIC: MSNBC's Keith Olbermann's "Special Comment" To Sarah Palin

Last night MSNBC's Keith Olbermann used the end of his show "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" to play 'all's fair in love and war' with Sarah Palin. Olbermann took the time to respond to Palin's claim that Senator Barack Obama has been "pallin' around with terrorists"
No Porsche For Venus

American Venus Williams had to wave goodbye to the fans at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, and the beautiful red Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabrio as well. Granted, she can probably afford any car that she wants, but it is a nice prize.
Serbian Jelena Jankovic, who became the World No. 1 today, defeated Venus 6-7(8), 7-5, 2-6.
Venus began the match very well and it appeared that no matter what Jankovic did, she would not be able to overcome Venus' game. But for whatever reason, mid-way through the second set Venus' game began to break down on all fronts. Her serve and forehand in particular really got out of rhythm.
Venus said, "she played well and I made too many errors, but I played some good points, too. It was a good competition."
Venus will compete for the Kremlin Cup this week, sister Serena withdrew with an ankle injury.

The gloves are off and the Obama Campaign has landed a penatrating body blow to the McCain Campaign by putting up a website that ties the current disatrous economic conditions to the scandal surrounding the savings and loan industry failure and the notorious "Keating Five." OUCH!
The current economic crisis demands that we understand John McCain's attitudes about economic oversight and corporate influence in federal regulation. Nothing illustrates the danger of his approach more clearly than his central role in the savings and loan scandal of the late '80s and early '90s.
John McCain was accused of improperly aiding his political patron, Charles Keating, chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association. The bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee launched investigations and formally reprimanded Senator McCain for his role in the scandal -- the first such Senator to receive a major party nomination for president.
At the heart of the scandal was Keating's Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which took advantage of deregulation in the 1980s to make risky investments with its depositors' money. McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating with federal regulators tasked with preventing banking fraud, and championed legislation to delay regulation of the savings and loan industry -- actions that allowed Keating to continue his fraud at an incredible cost to taxpayers.
When the savings and loan industry collapsed, Keating's failed company put taxpayers on the hook for $3.4 billion and more than 20,000 Americans lost their savings. John McCain was reprimanded by the bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee, but the ultimate cost of the crisis to American taxpayers reached more than $120 billion.
The Keating scandal is eerily similar to today's credit crisis, where a lack of regulation and cozy relationships between the financial industry and Congress has allowed banks to make risky loans and profit by bending the rules. And in both cases, John McCain's judgment and values have placed him on the wrong side of history.

Hello Everyone!
On Tuesday evening my excessive computing has put to death yet another computer...poor thing. However, the seven-year-old system had many upgrades and alterations and it was time to be put out of it's misery. A simple burial was given.
I did unfortunately lose some data, so I will be spending the day playing catch up so that I can begin posting again soon.
I hope that everyone's week has been purposeful, and that a great weekend is on tap.
