Flavia Pennetta has got past the first round of the AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships, a WTA tournament with 175,000 dollars in prizes underway in Tokyo, Japan. The Brindisi resident, accredited as the 8th ranked player in the series and just coming off the Seoul semi-final, beat American Ahsha Rolle with 7-5, 6-1 after an hour and a quarter.
